Gabe and I drove from Atlanta to Kentucky for our next Christmas adventures. We were surprised that it took us less than 6 hours to drive...not too shabby! We exchanged presents with his parents, Jess, Sterling, and April shortly after our arrival. We spent time with everyone again on Thursday along with Heidi and Dylan (more presents!). Friday, we all went to several different sports bars to have lunch, watch UK football, and play trivia and PhotoHunt. | We went down to Atlanta to visit my family for Christmas. Our plans changed a little bit at the last minute since I had been sick for several days. We didn't want to risk getting anyone sick, of course! We ended up driving down on Christmas Eve and spent several days with my family before driving to Kentucky to visit with Gabe's family. | Gabe and I decided to get tickets to the Barenaked Ladies concert at the Grady Cole Center in Charlotte. Since we weren't able to visit my parents just before Thanksgiving, we thought we would visit with them this weekend as well. | After our honeymoon in NYC, we flew directly to Lexington to spend time with Gabe's family for Thanksgiving. It was nice to fly directly into Lexington! We had a nice time with his family, and everyone loved playing the Wii! | When we discovered the Library Hotel, we really thought that it looked like a neat place! We felt that our honeymoon would be the perfect time to splurge and experience the hotel. We did not regret our decision - it was a very special trip. We also were excited about the PhotoTrek Tour, and we were glad that we did as well. We had a full schedule of activities during our stay in NYC. | Gabe and I planned a vacation to Sedona early in the year. We then decided in April to get married on the trip and invite our families. Everything was perfect. Sedona was even more beautiful than I imagined, and the wedding was amazing. We are looking forward to returning to the area in the future! | | Roger Waters Roadtrip Friday, September 22, 2006 - Sunday, September 24, 2006 Washington, DC and Bristow, VA |
| I have wanted to see Roger Waters of Pink Floyd fame perform live for a while. When I heard that he was doing a North American tour, I thought that it would be a good opportunity for a roadtrip. I was excited when I heard that he would be performing Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety! I was able to convince Gabe, Erin, and Dave to join me on the roadtrip.
| Five of us from the Raleigh area joined up with two from Kentucky for a girls weekend in Asheville. We stayed at The Wright Inn - Heidi and Jessica had rooms in the main house, and the rest of us shared The Carriage House. The Carriage House was our own cute little private house - it worked out very well for our late night fun. We toured the Biltmore House and Winery on Saturday and went to Mount Mitchell on Sunday. | Gabe and I recently started learning how to play bridge, and we had been playing for a week or two when we noticed an upcoming NLM (non-life-master) tournament in Charlotte. We decided to attend our first tournament since Davidson is a short drive from the bridge tournament. | Melissa wanted to do something special for her 30th birthday this year, so she rented a beach house at Edisto for the entire week. Various friends and family joined Jason and Melissa during their vacation. Gabe and I joined them along with 6 others for the weekend after Melissa's birthday. | Gabe and I visited my grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins this weekend in Atlanta along with my parents. We also went to the Braves/Reds game on Sunday before heading back to NC. | Gabe and I went to Kentucky for his sister's wedding. Both of us were able to take off Friday from work, so we left on Thursday after our photography class. It was a short, hectic weekend, but we were happy we could be there for Heidi and Tom's wedding! | Gabe and I took a quick trip to Davidson to visit with my parents. We attended their neighborhood picnic on Saturday. On Sunday, we headed a little further west to Lincolnton where we visited with my friend Catherine and her family. | Gabe's parents were passing through Virginia on their way home from Williamsburg. Gabe and I decided to meet up with them in Charlottesville to visit and play some cards. We took the opportunity to tour Monticello on Saturday, and then we stopped by to visit with more of Gabe's family in Richmond on the way home. | During this long weekend, I experienced live horse racing for the first time at Keeneland in Lexington, Kentucky. Gabe introduced me to members of his family, and we spent a good bit of time visiting with them. | Mom, Dad, Kristin, and I drove down to Atlanta to celebrate Grandpa's 90th birthday, which was on the following Monday. We made a quick trip just for the weekend. | I had not visited my parents at their house in Davidson for a while, so I thought I'd take a weekend to visit with them. They had some new furniture since the last time that I visited, so I wanted to see the new decor! | | Vegas in January Wednesday, January 25, 2006 - Sunday, January 29, 2006 Las Vegas, NV |
| The poker group hadn't been to Vegas in a while, so we planned to go in late January to play poker. We ended up staying at the MGM Grand at the last minute as we found a good deal on the hotel rooms. |
