It’s time for another letter to Cullen, just a tad late this time. Happy 4th birthday to my sweet, sweet boy! (more…)

The Sunday Somethings, 28apr13

Monday, April 29th, 2013

Wrote this last night (on Sunday), but I forgot to post…

Something that makes me happy: Finally finishing A Dance with Dragons. I have been working on reading that series for more than 6 years, and some of it has just been a chore. I guess that means I don’t love the series quite as much as others do!

Something I’m thinking: I knew after the yard sale in 2007 that I would never have another one, and I relearned this on Saturday at my sister’s moving sale. The yard sale subculture is fascinating, but it’s not worth the trouble. That being said, Gabe and I were happy to get rid of a few big items at the sale that we might have had trouble offloading otherwise. It was also nice to spend some time with my sister and brother-in-law, though I think next time we’ll pick a different activity!

Something happening around the house: I’ve been forcing the kids to pose for pictures next to windows and open doors for my photography class assignment this week.

Something I’m reading: I finished A Dance with Dragons, and now I have to figure out what’s next!

Something Gabe is reading: He finished Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Book Store and started and finished City of Bones. He enjoyed both of those. He’s now reading Elantris by Brandon Sanderson.

Something I’m watching: We’ll probably get back to watching Game of Thrones this week (after I finish the book).

Something tasty: I’m looking forward to dinner with friends tonight at a tasty Italian restaurant!

Something about both kiddos: They both had their bike days this week! Maddie zipped around on her strider at her last bike day, and Cullen plodded around on his new scooter at his first bike day. Both seemed to have a good time, and I had my best two sessions as far as taking photos of them at bike day! We are ready to take a break from rollerblading. Both kids have lost some of their motivation for it.

Something Maddie is doing (5 years old): I can’t believe that Maddie has now had her final bike day! She is making progress on her big girl bike without training wheels, but she was nowhere near comfortable enough to try it at bike day. She will be zipping around unassisted on that pretty soon, I’m sure. Maddie continues to do well when going to bed at night and has been sleeping through the night most of the last month. It’s an amazing difference, and I think that it has positively affected her in other ways. It has certainly been positive for her parents! I signed her up for two more sessions of swimming classes. She’s taking a level 1 preschool class now, and I thought she’d be ready for level 2 after these are finished. Her instructor wasn’t so sure at the beginning of Tuesday’s lesson, but by the end of the lesson she agreed that Maddie was more than ready for level 2. She jumped into the pool without any assistance from the instructor, and she was comfortable submerging her head under water several times. Considering how terrified she was of the water at the beginning of last summer, I’m extremely proud of her progress!

Something Cullen is doing (3 years old): Cullen is excited about his new scooter. He wasn’t very fast at bike day, but he seemed excited. He was exhausted by the end! We were laughing on his last laps as he tried to “sleep” on the handlebars. He even stopped in the middle of the course to sit on the scooter and take a rest. Cullen continues to be accident free with potty training during the day AND night. Of course, now that just means we’re in the phase where he goes to the potty by himself but yells from the bathroom for someone to wipe him. Cullen didn’t seem to be into rollerblading on Saturday, but he ended up doing some drills with skating around cones and even enjoyed skating backwards.

Something I am struggling with: I’m FINALLY feeling better with my bronchitis. It seems that the new antibiotic didn’t try to kill me, and it actually cured me instead. Hooray!

Something I’m doing towards my goals: I’m taking another photography class, and this one is called “Photographing Children.” I have been wanting to take it for a while. The class started last Monday, just in time for me to use tips for both bike days. I struggled a little with our assignments this week. The kids aren’t the best subjects on demand. I took about 400 shots to submit one for my “homework.”

Something I learned: I learned some useful tips for shooting the action of bike day!

Something I’m looking forward to: We have swimming lessons for Maddie on Tuesday and Thursday, photography lessons on Monday for me, strawberry picking for the family on Friday, and rollerblading for both kids on Saturday. Maybe this week’s assignment will have something to do with strawberry picking or swimming??

Something captured: Two pictures this week, two of my favorites from the bike days.

The Sunday Somethings, 06jan13 and 13jan13

Sunday, January 13th, 2013

Something that makes me happy: Sleep would make me happy, but that’s more theoretical right now than actual.

Something I’m thinking: I didn’t feel like writing this week’s Sunday Somethings either, but I figured if I didn’t I might drop the habit. I don’t want to do that. It’s the only way I can remember things.

Something I’m hoping: I’m hoping that we can get the kids sleeping reliably again. We’ve had a terrible time with both kids in the past two weeks. Our latest solution is to try to get them to share a room. So far, that has been rough, too. (and between writing this and getting ready to publish, we declared it a failure and moved Maddie’s bed back to her room)

Something happening around the house: We’ve been getting rid of baby clothes and paper lately. We have been giving outgrown clothes to friends and scanning, shredding, and recycling paper. It is great to get these things out of the house, but we have a long way to go.

Something I’m reading: I finished Valley of the Horses, and I didn’t feel like the second book was as good as the first. I don’t think I’ll continue the series. I started reading Delirium.

Something Gabe is reading: He’s almost finished with the first 5 books of the Wool/Silo series.

Something I’m creating: Last Sunday, we did two of the Kiwi Crate crafts – penguin bowling and aurora australis postcards. Fun! I also finished the first draft of our cruise photobook (yeah, from 2011). I’m so happy to have that done! I ordered it Monday and got it a couple days later. Gabe finished his fancy Lego firehouse.

Something tasty: I made my grandma’s chicken divan recipe for the first time in a while (last week). We always enjoy that!

Something about both kiddos: The kids have been absolutely terrible with sleep. For almost a week, we’ve been trying to get them to sleep in the same room. That has helped in some ways, but it is a disaster in most other ways. We just don’t know what to do or how to get them the sleep that they (and we) so desperately need. When they are awake and happy, they continue to be best buddies. They have a few new games that they play. One is “dark” or “light” monster where they go around the house turning off all of the lights. This is both amusing and inconvenient (like if we’re trying to do something that requires a light). They dress up and pretend they are going to New York City (Maddie especially asks frequently when we are going to go there). They have been playing an entertaining yet slightly disturbing game of “Titanic” since we read the Titanic book in the Magic Treehouse series. This involves a variety of play including Maddie determining who has a “life belt” and who doesn’t (“you’re dead”) and various versions of jumping to the life boats. Sometimes Cullen puts a blue blanket over his head and declares that he is the iceberg. It’s their favorite game when Sophie comes over. They love building forts out of the furniture and blankets. Both had a great week at rollerblading. We had them practice in the bonus room on the carpet the night before their lesson, and that seemed to make a very big difference. I think we’ll sign them up for another session after this one. Cullen and Maddie are both taking the pre-ballet class that my work offers for preschoolers. I was impressed with how much Cullen followed along.

Something Maddie is doing (4.5 years old): For breakfast every morning, she has Kix cereal and orange juice. She typically eats the Kix dry, but sometimes she has it with milk. We toured another school, and we registered her for kindergarten. After a ton of research and analyzing and thinking about schools, I think we have a plan. We are probably going to be trying for a year round school. We hear that the chances are very good that we’ll be able to get in. We won’t know for another month. If she gets into the year round school, then she will start kindergarten in early July. Yikes!

Something Cullen is doing (2.5 years old): Cullen’s daily breakfast consists of “breakfast toast” and milk. I’m not sure why organic toaster pastries are known as “breakfast toast” in our house. I love how Cullen says some things, and one of my favorites is how he says “alright” – it sounds more like “oh-right.” He’s been doing a little better lately with potty training and had no accidents at school last week. I am not sure whether he might have had one or two at home, but he’s been doing well at home, too.

Something I am struggling with: I’m struggling with the same thing I do every January…I’m resisting adding too many plans to our calendar since we already seem to be quite busy! At the same time, I am itching to plan a few things here and there. Some vacation plans are in the works at the moment.

Something I’m doing towards my goals: I decided in December to start scanning all the paper that comes into the house (and then to shred it). I’m so excited to eliminate stacks and stacks of paper and hanging folders of filed mortgage statements and such. I know there will be a few important pieces of paper that need to be kept, but the majority of it can be digitally stored and shredded. I plan to do this with a lot of the artwork that comes into the house from the kids.

Something I’m looking forward to: We don’t have too many plans this week. Both kids have pre-ballet and rollerblading as well will for the next several weeks, at least. Next weekend, we’ll have a “special Cullen day” like we did for each kid last year. We are all excited about the “special Cullen day” with Cullen’s birthday coming up fast!

Something captured: The kiddos were cute at the first ballet lesson. I was glad that Melisa was taking pictures and caught this one of the kids.

Maddie is 4.5!

I can’t believe that Maddie is four and a half (or was on August 20th!). Time for another letter to Maddie! (more…)

The Sunday Somethings, 17jun12

Monday, June 18th, 2012

Something I’m thinking: We had some rough moments with kiddo sleep this weekend, but overall we had a great Father’s Day weekend!

Something happening around the house: We’ve been eating outside on the deck a bunch in this beautiful weather! The kids love it, especially when they get to play in their little pool and eat in their bathing suits.

Something I’m reading: 11/22/63 by Stephen King for book club.

Something Gabe is reading: Chats from his buddies in Valor. I think that’s about it.

Something I’m watching: I started watching Bunheads and recognize some of the fast-talking fun that I liked from Gilmore Girls. We also went to see The Lorax as a family!

Something I’m playing: What else? Mystery Manor for both of us on the iPad and Valor for Gabe.

Something tasty: We’ve been eating tasty dinners from the new grill. Yum! Oh, and I made homemade blueberry/banana muffins with streusel topping on Father’s Day.

Something about both kiddos: We took them to Goodberry’s for the first time! Of course, they loved it. They shared a chocolate frozen custard with sprinkles (and some of my blueberry concrete with marshmallow, sprinkles, and oreos – why do they always want MY food, especially the tasty treats?). We also took our first family outing to the movies on Sunday, and that went better than expected. We went to the dinner theater for lunchtime. The kids didn’t pay much attention to their food, but they seemed to grasp the overall idea of the movie. They have been talking about how the town had no trees and people were sad about that and eventually they grew new trees. The kids played in their little pool a bunch. We all went to Pullen Park on Saturday. Maddie was excited to show Cullen the park. We rode the carousel and train, and the kids did the little kid boat ride. They played on the swings and see saw and played in the sand. We all left the park exhausted and happy.

Something Maddie is doing (51 months old): Maddie has been able to propel herself on the swings for a couple months, though I’m not sure I remembered to mention it here. She still wants us to push her often. Maddie was very cute about showing her brother around Pullen Park. When we told them that we were meeting friends at Pullen Park, Maddie got excited and told him, “Cullen! Pullen Park is AWESOME!” This was Gabe and Cullen’s first time to the park. When we were there, Maddie told Cullen all about it. “Cullen, over there is the carousel! It has its own house!” She’s still working on her moveable alphabet, though she is reluctant to spell things for us at home (despite her ability to do so). She will do it when she’s in the mood, but she’s not generally in the mood! Her favorite response to us asking if she can spell a word is to tell us that she can spell cat.

Something Cullen is doing (28 months old): Cullen remains attached to Charlie and Minnies, especially Maddie’s Princess Minnie. Why oh why did I bring back a Princess Minnie for Maddie and a Sorcerer Mickey for Cullen? Why didn’t I bring back two Princess Minnies?? I should have known…and the thought did cross my mind. Maddie allowed Cullen to bring Princess Minnie to school today, but she refused to let him take her to bed tonight. Charlie was in desperate need of a bath after a mishap this morning. So that left Cullen without his two comforting buddies. He had a total meltdown at bedtime. He’s not been going to bed very well lately. For a little while, he was coming out of his room once or twice. I would put him to bed after stories and songs, and then he would come out until Gabe took him back to bed (with a song or two). Sometimes he would come back out, but we would tell him that we both already covered him up and he needs to go back to his bed. It’s been getting worse and worse, so the last two nights we told him that we would each cover him up and sing songs, but then we weren’t going to respond to further requests. Tonight was the first night that he stayed in bed after Gabe tucked him in. He’s been waking up far too early, too. On Saturday, I don’t think he went back to sleep after waking up the whole house at 5am. He was completely inconsolable, so I am thinking that maybe he’s getting teeth or something. He did fabulously at his very first movie! He was excited and allegedly told all of his teachers about it today.

Something I am struggling with: Blogging…organizing photos…I can’t seem to get organized.

Something I’m looking forward to: Dinners with friends and a play date with two other families.

Something captured: The kids and their very special treat!

Sunday, March 11th, 2012

Something I’m hoping: I hope that Gabe loves his new iPad! He’s pretty excited about it, and it should arrive on Friday. I also hope that it won’t make me want one for myself!

Something happening around the house: Well, I thought that our garage door was fixed (again), but it still doesn’t work right. Argh! We’re probably going to have to buy a new garage door at this rate.

Something I’m reading: I finished The Name of the Wind and started on the second book in the series, The Wise Man’s Fear.

Something Gabe is reading: Gabe finished book 3 of the Percy Jackson series and started on book 4.

Something I’m watching: We went to see the Michael Jackson Cirque du Soleil show today. We had great seats (thanks to the connections of our friends!). It was the first time I’d been that close to the Cirque performers, and it was neat to see the details of the costumes and the performers’ facial expressions.

Something I’m playing: With the kids, we’ve been playing Zingo, Pengoloo, Teddy Mix and Match, and The Kids of Carcassonne. We played Die Burgen von Burgund on Friday. On Saturday, I played Europa Tour, Traumfabrik, Wits and Wagers Family, and Circus Flohcati. Gabe played everything except Traumfabrik and also played Pandemic.

Something I’m creating: Hmm. I don’t think I created very much this week.

Something about both kiddos: The kids this week have been so cute, calling each other “brud” and “sissy.” They tell each other to “have a nice day” when I drop them off at school. Sometimes they also say, “I love you, Brud” and “I love you, Sissy.” I just love to see them getting along like that!

Something Maddie is doing (48 months old): We’ve been trying to encourage her to be more proactive in requesting new lessons at school. I think she did a few times this week. At home, she has been doing a lot of work with her scissors. She enjoys cutting pictures out of catalogs and making collages. She continues to write her letters very well and is getting a good handle on her number writing, too. She can spell simple words when I help her sound them out, but she is rarely interested in doing more than a few a at time. I hope that she’ll show a little more interest in reading soon!

Something Cullen is doing (25 months old): Cullen is a funny little guy these days. He laughs so much. I love it! You never know what he is going to find humorous. Earlier this week, he kept looking at Gabe and saying, “Gabe!” and then bursting into giggles. They celebrated a birthday at school this week, and I heard that he was laughing like a crazy person at the little party, too. Last weekend, he didn’t take any naps. It’s getting more difficult to put him down for naps. Bedtime is getting more challenging this week, too. One day this week, he was still trying to come out of his room at 10pm! He usually goes to bed around 7:45pm. He will get out of his bed and open his door (which has a gate on it) and ask for various things. He wants me to read another book or sing “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” (lately, he wants me to sing to him before bed). He’ll want me to come back in and put him in bed. He’ll want me to cover him. My favorite excuse is when he wears the footed pajamas (which we call footies) and puts pacis in his footies and needs us to retrieve them. Earlier this week, we were in the car and I heard Cullen say, “I just took the booger out and put it in my mouth. That’s yucky. Ew! Gross!” When Cullen talks about things that he wants to do, he often ends his sentences with “right now.” The other day, he came to me crying. He was trying to tell me something, but I couldn’t understand him. I often say, “Cullen, can you use your words?” and he is often able to tell me things. He said, “Yes. Daddy won’t let me go up the stairs right now.” He’s just getting so articulate.

Something I’m looking forward to: I’m looking forward to the nice weather later this week! I’m also shocked to report that we have no definite plans for this entire week, including next weekend.

Something captured: Maddie working one of her 100-piece puzzles. She looked up at the camera and said, “this is my real smile.”

Sunday, August 14th, 2011

Something happening around the house: This week, we have an inspector coming to look at the air conditioning installation and someone else to check on the efficiency. We are also getting the house appraised this week for our refinance. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for the appraisal as it can affect our rate quite a bit.

Something I’m reading: I finished A Clash of Kings and started both SuperFreakonomics and A Storm of Swords. I need to finish SuperFreakonomics for this month’s book club before getting much further into A Storm of Swords. At this rate, George R. R. Martin may finish the 6th book by the time I get through the first 5.

Something Gabe is reading: A Dance with Dragons.

Something I’m watching: I think I just watched one episode of Alphas, and that was about it.

Something Maddie is doing (41 months old): She was stung by a bee this week at school, poor girl. She did not seem to have a major reaction, so that is good news. She claims it was a yellow jacket. Yesterday, we were practicing drawing letters. She’s been writing her name constantly on her papers at work in addition to practicing at home. She wants to know how to spell other people’s names, and she’s been pretty good at writing letters not in her name. Yesterday, I had her write the entire alphabet. I was impressed! She made it through R without issues, but then I think she was a little tired of the exercise by the time we got to S. Maddie calls Cullen “baby,” “my baby,” “baby brother,” and “Cullen” (of course). We told her months ago that Cullen is no longer a baby, but he will always be her baby brother. I haven’t mentioned this in a while, but Maddie still uses her belly button as a security blanket. She lifts her shirt and puts her finger in her belly button when she’s nervous or needs extra comfort. I try to remind her to “put her shirt down” when we are in public. She had another t-ball lesson this week and seems to enjoy it. I don’t think that she’s going to be ready for the major leagues anytime soon. She’s having fun, so that’s what is important. I’m thinking we should get a t-ball set for her to play with in our yard.

Something Cullen is doing (18 months old): Cullen had his VCUG test, and as I reported we are thrilled about the results. The tests showed no visible kidney damage and only Grade 1 reflux on one side and NO reflux on the other. This was fabulous news. Cullen is repeating more and more of what we are saying, in addition to adding new words to his vocabulary daily. Two more teeth cut through the gums. The ones I was worried about in the front have FINALLY cut through. I’m relieved! They have been trying to come through the gums for months, I swear. Cullen’s grand total of teeth is now up to 12. Since he’s such an awful teether, I’m not sad that big bunches of teeth seem to come in at the same time. Cullen sometimes says, “please” when asking for something and “thank you” when appropriate. Sometimes when you ask him a question, he’ll start his answer with “ummmmm…” He does this a lot when we’re looking at books and I ask him to find something specific. “Cullen, where’s the bunny?” “ummmmm….” Cullen went through a short phase where he asked, “why?” when we said things to him. I know he picked that up from his big sister! He has been amazingly sleeping through the night. As soon as I type this, I’m sure the streak will be over. He’s had more nights that he sleeps through the night than not. I think in this past week, he had only one restless night (and it was before one of the days we discovered new teeth). I’ve been putting him to bed most nights. He is excited to have his teeth brushed (while I sing the ABC song). Then we go up to his room for several “stories.” He has a great attention span for most of his board books now (at least right before bed). After reading several books, we turn out the light and I put him in the crib. He finds his paci. He then curls up with his bum up in the air and his feet folded, and I put the blanket over his body. We rarely hear much from him now until 6:30am or 7am. I probably shouldn’t jinx things by writing about it here! Apparently, we had a short period around 18 months where we declared Maddie was “sleeping through the night” (and then she regressed until she was at least 2 and a half). Note: I wrote this section just before going to bed last night, and sure enough last night was one of Cullen’s worst nights in a while. He was very restless and woke up often, screaming. He does seem to have some congestion this morning, so I’m thinking he’s probably not feeling well.

Something I’m doing towards my goals: I am not caught up on photos, but I did make a little progress and I have scheduled a bunch of blog posts about our trip over Memorial Day week. Stay tuned for those!

Something I’m looking forward to: I’m looking forward to dinner and games with friends, hopefully some poker, and the last t-ball class.

Something random: It’s much easier to go through sets of photos with Gabe helping me! I try to keep to the rule of keeping only 25% or less of any particular event (exceptions are made for smaller sets). Of course, I still keep too many photos, but this rule makes it much more manageable.

Something captured: Maddie, fielding 3rd base. The t-ball lessons are in a gym (thankfully, it’s too hot outside!). She was more interested in fiddling with her belly button and twirling around in her skirt than she was keeping her eye on the ball.

Cullen is one and a half!

Thursday, August 4th, 2011

I’ve been working on this one for a couple of weeks (he was 18 months on July 22nd). I was a little slow to put the finishing touches on it and collect the photos. Now it is almost time to write Maddie’s 3.5 year letter. Whew. Here’s the latest letter to Cullen. (more…)

The Sunday Somethings, 03jul11

Sunday, July 3rd, 2011

Something that makes me happy: We put together all of the Dominion boxes into two plastic boxes with dividers. This is going to make it so much easier to transport (even from upstairs to downstairs in our house – 6 boxes were unwieldy!).

Something I’m thinking: I have thought that I hated seeing movies in 3D, but it turns out that 3D has come a long way!

Something I’m hoping: I’m hoping that I will get into Dark Places, this month’s book club book. I think that I’m just not in the mood for the genre at the moment.

Something happening around the house: The usual disaster zone of toys scattered everywhere and clutter on every horizontal surface in our kitchen.

Something I’m reading: I finished Naamah’s Kiss, and I plan on taking a little break from the Kushiel series. I read The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner, and I think I would have enjoyed it more if I had remembered more about her role and the surrounding events in the Twilight series. I started reading Dark Places for book club.

Something I’m watching: Gabe had a comp day for Friday, so we decided to take advantage of this and go to the movies. Despite the reviews, we decided to see Green Lantern and Cars 2. Have you ever tried to coordinate more than one movie in a day? It takes some planning, if you care about what you want to see and have time constraints. When I used to do “all day movie days,” it took a great deal of planning to fit in 4 or 5 movies in one day!

Something I’m playing: We played 7 Wonders and Dominion with the Cornucopia expansion with friends on Friday. Last night, Gabe and I gave the two player version of 7 Wonders a try. We were happy with how well it worked for us! We hope to play some games with other friends today, if the kiddos will cooperate!

Something tasty: I made Rice Krispies treats last night with chocolate and vanilla swirled marshmallows. Yum!

Something Maddie is doing (40 months old): Maddie’s gotten pretty good at writing her name. She has a preschool workbook and asks for “lessons” from it often. She does well tracing letters and numbers, and can write quite a few of them without tracing (though not all). She can write the letters in her name the best, of course. We still get comments from the teachers about how stubborn she can be. This week, one of the teachers asked us which one of us was stubborn (to which we replied that both of us are!). She has been doing more lessons in the sensorial section with shapes and colors and sizes. We’ve gotten the Winnie the Pooh movie out to prep Maddie for the new Winnie the Pooh movie coming out in a couple of weeks. I’m so excited to take Maddie to the theater for the first time! I can’t think of a better first movie!!!

Something Cullen is doing (17 months old): I hope that he’s getting some more teeth, because he’s been a bit cranky lately! He woke up many, many times last night. It’s been looking like he’s going to get the other teeth in the front for months, but I’ve started to give up on those. The gums where the other 3 molars will appear soon are bumpy, but nothing has broken through yet. He’s still a bad sleeper, even though he’s not nursing in the middle of the night. He goes back to sleep fairly easily most nights, but he wakes up at least 2 or 3 times. I laugh about friend with 3 and 5 month olds who routinely sleep 8 or 9 hours. Um, I don’t know if Cullen has ever done that! A couple of days this week, I thought we were doing good with the weaning from the nursing, but we had a few days where he had to nurse more than usual (just not at night). Most of the time, he nurses either in the morning or night, still, and sometimes both. He’s repeating just about anything we say (good thing we’re already careful about what we say with Maddie around!). He has so many words! It’s really amazing to me how much he’s capable of saying. Today, we tried giving Cullen a shower to see how he would react (to prepare for the cruise when we won’t have a bathtub). After having water play outside yesterday, I think that he thought it was great fun! I think that the showers on the cruise for him will be just fine.

Something I am struggling with: Gabe and I are struggling with the lack of sodas in the house. We decided to cut out diet soda in the house. We still allow ourselves to get it at restaurants (and, shhhhh, don’t tell Gabe that I have been sneaking some from the soda fountains at work). (oh, crap, he reads the blog)

Something I’m doing towards my goals: Gabe and I went through our shelves of games and updated the list on the website. We’ve been meaning to do that for a while! I’m working on a blog post that will be a follow up to the books we need to read list that I posted earlier this year. We’ve been doing great on that reading challenge! The only problem with that is that I haven’t been reading enough on my kindle! I keep reading books from my shelves and borrowed books from friends.

Something I learned: I learned that I can now instantly redeem my amazon credit card points when ordering items on amazon! Woohoo! I haven’t ordered any gift certificates, and now I’m glad I didn’t deal with the hassle. Now, I just have to decide what I want to order for FREE.

Something I’m looking forward to: My photography class has a field trip this week, so that should be interesting. I hope that it will be informative. I’d love to see fireworks tomorrow, but I don’t think it’s going to happen this year.

Something random: I’ll be enjoying my last week in the office building that I’ve been in for 13 years. The thing that I will miss the most is the daily hot oatmeal bar downstairs. I guess I’ll either have to hike to other buildings (or wait for the cruise later this year, ha!). I love fresh, hot oatmeal.

Something captured: Our new solution for the Dominion cards! Yay!

Cullen’s 15-month letter

Friday, April 22nd, 2011

I feel like a ton has happened in the past month. The time always goes by quickly, but I felt like I had a little break from the letter writing this time…for once. I can’t believe I’m getting this thing out on time! Here’s the last monthly installment in letters to Cullen. My next letter to him will be in 3 months! (more…)
