Cullen’s Ice Cream Social

Saturday, October 29th, 2011

On the same day as Maddie’s bike day, Cullen’s classroom had an ice cream social. I love the social events in the classrooms as it’s often one of the only chances to talk to the other parents.

This was Cullen’s first taste of ice cream. I think he might like it.

We had little single serving packets that had one scoop of ice cream each. I had never seen ice cream like that – pretty neat!

Cullen got into a little scuffle at school and ended up with a scrape under his eye – just in time for a photo-filled weekend of trips to both the zoo and pumpkin patch!

Maddie was able to join Cullen’s party. I didn’t give Cullen any M&Ms, so he took matters into his own hands and stole some of Maddie’s. I learned that Daddy has previously given Cullen a few tastes of M&Ms, so this wasn’t his first time!

Brats and Beers

Thursday, September 1st, 2011

I had uploaded this album to Shutterfly a while ago, and I didn’t notice until later that “Brats” could be interpreted in two different ways. Cullen’s classroom at daycare has multiple events throughout the year. It’s nice to spend special time with the kids, and it’s also nice to see other parents. They did a Mother’s Day Tea for Mommies and I was glad that Gabe was able to attend his special Father’s Day event this year (we missed it when Maddie went through the same classroom).

For the Daddies, they had little pigs-in-a-blanket and root beer as part of their snack spread. Brats and Beers! I thought that was very clever for Father’s Day.

The kids are always excited to have the parents in the classroom. I think that Cullen was equally excited about his super-sized snack selection. He approved of his first tastes of cheetos.

I gave Gabe the camera and made sure to remind him several times that I wanted photos. I’m happy that he got one of the two of them together.

Cullen was apparently quite busy with his snack during the party!

Mother’s Day Tea

I love the daycare events. I like spending time with my kid, of course, but it’s also a great time to socialize with the parents and other kids. Cullen’s current classroom is the one that we’ve been through that has the most events. Last week, they had the Mother’s Day Tea.

Cullen was excited that I was visiting in the classroom (and was upset whenever I even thought about walking across the room).

He looks excited about the blueberry biscuit, but he didn’t touch it. He missed out! He would have loved it if he had just taken a little taste…

The kids had gifts for their mommies. They each had painted boxes with their photos on the top. I now have a matching set, one from each kid!

Here, Mommy, this is for you!

I love the Mother’s Day tea!
