I was so annoyed about those Percy Jackson books no longer being "always available"! Elise and I were walking out of the house to go to Starbuck's for breakfast Sunday morning. She didn't have anything to read, so I said I'd put the next Percy Jackson (she needs the third too) on her Kindle. That's when I discovered the library change. I got her the free sample from Amazon instead. She read it in the car on the way to Starbuck's, so she still didn't have anything to read when we got there! That's when I handed her Mrs. Peregrine's Peculiar Children book since it was still in my car! :)

OMG! I was the same way. I actually like to rub the satin in the crooks (webbing you could say) between each finger and toe. Amen for blankets with satin trim on both ends.
Not long after moving away for college, my new friend and her mother bought me a satin trimmed blanket for Christmas. My only one was destroyed and they witnessed this addiction a few times I slept over with their bedding. That was one of my favorite gifts. I'm laying with it now. :)
I also just acquired 2 similar blankets after my grandmother passed away. My oldest sister asked if there was anything I knew I wanted immediately, and I quickly responded with "her satin trimmed blankets!". She had them since before I could remember, and kept them in the best condition. It's a wonderful memorial.
My boyfriend hates it (I'll pull the blanket away from him to get the cool, untouched satin feeling). But boy, it sure relaxes me!
Thanks for sharing this post, and for reassuring fellow satin lovers that it's normal and a safe habit!

Thank you for posting what was going on with your daughter in 2009. I came across it while looking up my grand daughters symptoms. She was on augmentin and is covered from head to toe with hives. The ones from yesturday have faded into bruises. She had to go to the hospital for blood work to see if it is only an alergy or if it is more. Her parents and I are worried and feel bad for her. We are praying for her to get better quick!

Thank you so much for posting this! My 3 year old daughter was on amoxicillin for 8 days when she broke out in a rash and hives that look just like your daughter's. She had been on amoxicillin one time before and did not have a reaction then. So, I didn't think she would be allergic.

The Dr. misdiagnosed her as having either bug bites or chicken pox which was very frustrating. But, when they became obvious large hives, I figured out it was an allergic reaction.

I called the Dr and they instructed me to give her zyrtec and benadryl, switching back and forth between, which she is on now and it seems to have helped with the itching. The hives are slowly disappearing, but they seem to be looking like very light bruises now. She has been battling a low fever the whole time. I hope it goes away soon.

Reading your post was so helpful and seeing the pics of the hives helped me identify. Thank you.

I went to Sparians for a work thing at lunch one time. We were not impressed at all. They weren't busy (we may have been the only ones there) and the service STILL sucked. Hello, we are the only people here, why do i have to come looking for a waitress every time? The food was not awful, but seemed a tad on the expensive side for being average bar fare.

There's an old-school bowling alley on Hillsborough St that i would recommend for your next trip, possibly. You even have to write your own scores in.

I honestly haven't found a place for the iPad (or any tablet) in my life, and I'm a pretty tech savvy person. I have my iPhone. It fits in my pocket. It makes phone calls. It does stuff on the internet. I can use it to read my RSS feeds when waiting in the doctor's office. I can check my emails and answer them, if I really feel like typing it out that way. Then I have my laptop. The things that I do on the laptop, aside from check Facebook and random surfing, aren't easily done on the iPhone or tablet. I do a ton of photo management and processing. I do my more extensive emailing and blogging. These things would either not be possible or would be a pain on the tablet (I found the lack of a true keyboard to be a pain when trying to update my blog on Sunday). I know many use it as a kindle reader, but I prefer the actual kindle (which I also have) to the iPad with the backlight. I love that my kindle screen looks very much like a book. I just can't figure out when the iPad would be useful for me. Obviously, many people do not feel the same way. I just can't figure out what's so great about it, but people love their iPads, so what do I know?
