Visiting Santa
December 22nd, 2009We took Maddie to see Santa last year, and it went pretty well considering that she fell asleep while waiting in line. This year, I decided to take my last vacation day of the year so that we could make the trip to see Santa. She was able to tell us that we were going to see Santa, but she doesn’t really “get” Santa this year. I’m guessing if she were just a month or two older, she would really be getting into it. We met Keira and her mommy. We talked about how all the boys and girls were sitting on Santa’s lap and said when it was her turn that she could sit on Santa’s lap. She said “Santa’s lap” multiple times as we were approaching her turn. We thought she might do it. Then she started saying, “Santa’s lap…no” while shaking her head. So…we were *those* parents. The ones forcing their toddler to sit on Santa’s lap just so we can have a picture. Yep. That was us. Keira, on the other hand, was happy to sit on Santa’s lap and told him that she wanted purple presents and a purple game. Too cute.
