Cute Maddie Conversation
October 28th, 2008You know that this was coming, but you didn’t know it would happen so soon. That’s right. I’m posting about something cute that Maddie said. Lately, Maddie has been quite vocal. She doesn’t have much context with what she’s saying, but she “talks” quite a bit. She has been saying “dada” often…nevermind that she is just as likely to call me or the lamp “dada” as Daddy. We’re working on that. Here’s a little conversation that we had with her this morning, trying to teach her how to say “mama.”
Maddie: Dada!
Mommy: Mmmmmaammmmaaa
Maddie: Dada!
Daddy: Mmmmaaammmaaaa
Maddie: Dada!
Mommy: MMMMmmmmm. Mama. That’s Dada, I’m Mama.
Maddie: Dada!
Daddy: That’s right, I’m Dada. That’s Mama. Mmmmmaaammmaaaa.
Maddie: Dada dada!
Mommy: Mama!
Maddie: Dada!
Daddy (thinking he’s clever): Maddie, who’s your favorite parent?
Maddie (looks directly at Daddy): Uh oh!

Love it! I still remember the first time Cerina and I had a “real” conversation: where she is actually talking to me and telling me about her day. It was an unbelievable experience…
