A Few Things I Hate (or “Suck It”)
June 20th, 2007It’s about time for another episode of iamafreak. This time, we’ll examine a few odd things that really get under my skin: soda can spit and the sound of fingernails being clipped.
Soda can spit: I hate the bit of soda and spit that is left on the edge of soda cans. I think that I blame my sister for this oddity. Whenever we share a drink, she will always demand that I suck up that bit before passing the drink back to her. Of course, I picked up on this as well and now it drives me crazy. So, if we ever share a soda can and I ask you to suck it, you’ll know what I mean. Is there a name for that nasty spit residue? Yuck!
The Sound of Fingernails Being Clipped: I can’t stand the sound of fingernails being clipped. It used to drive me crazy in college especially as I could hear when anyone else in the dorm suite was clipping them. The sound really travels for that sound, too. I can hear it if someone is clipping them anywhere in the house. Drives me insane. Hrm, maybe I shouldn’t post things like this – you don’t really need the keys to annoying me. Recently, Gabe and I were watching episodes of Buffy, and we watched the one where Buffy’s college roommate turns out to be a demon. There’s a scene where Buffy’s demon roommate is loudly clipping her toenails. Man, I wish I had a clip of that to post here, but if you watch that clip you’ll see what I mean. The episode is called “Living Conditions” and can be found in Season 4 (Episode 58).
